Getting your visa at Zvartnots Airport
Zvartnots Airport grants visas for visiting the city. You can acquire your visa only by paying in Armenian Dram. The price for a single entry visa for stay lasting up to 120 days is 15,000 AMD (~$41). Entry visas for stays lasting up to 21 days cost about 3000 AMD (~$10). There is an application form you should fill in to get the visa. You can fill out the form right on the spot. If you decide to prolong your visa, you should go to the Passport and Visa Department located on 13A Mashtots Avenue.
The modernization of the airport
The flight information display system (FIDS) has been updated as well as a biometric-identification system, used for both baggage check-in and passenger control.
The construction of a new international terminal started in 2004, which covers 19,200 m2 and can handle 2 million passengers yearly. In June, 2007 the new international terminal with a departures section was opened.
New parking has been built in order to adapt to the increase of visitors. It has a capacity of 1,000 vehicles. Many international airlines now operate from Zvartnots, connecting Yerevan to most of the world's cities.
Visitors' comfort within the terminal has been improved. The arrival hall capacity has been enlarged with a volume of over 1,000 passengers per hour. Passenger management has also been streamlined due to a substantial expansion of customs. The waiting areas in the airport and customer service areas have been throughly renovated. Wi-Fi internet connection, duty-free shops and restaurants are readily available.
Getting to Yerevan from Zvarnots Airport
Bus #201 connects the airport with the crossroads of the Sayat Nova and Mashtots streets (in Yerevan). Bus #108 connects the airport with the center of Yerevan as well.
