House Museum of Aram Khachaturian
His beautiful symphonies and ballets have played in concert halls all over the world, Aram Khachaturian is the most well known Armenian composer. His greatest works include the "Sabre Dance" from the ballet Gayane and also the ballet Spartacus. Armenia's National Philharmonic was named in honor of Aram Khachaturyan.
The House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian was founded by the government of Armenia in 1978. The museum has a unique collection of musical instruments, as well as a rich music library with more than four thousand CDs belonging to both classical and modern genres.
Aram Khachaturian's son, Karen Khachaturian, has donated his father’s belongings to the museum. Among the donated items are those of his father's dining room, office and bedroom, also included is the composer's piano, letters, and documents.
