Cafesjian Center for the Arts
Located in downtown Yerevan, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts exhibits rare samples of glass art as well as drawings, paintings and sculptures.
The art center was founded by benefactor Gerard L. Cafesjian. Its mission is to bring the best of contemporary art to Armenia and present the best of Armenian culture to the world. The majority of exhibitions are derived from Mr. Cafesjian's own extensive collection of contemporary art.
The collection of more than 5,000 works includes an extensive glass series. It is especially rich in works of Czech couple Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtova who revolutionized the use of glass as an artistic medium. The museum also has substantial holdings in drawing, painting and sculpture. Among prominent artists are Fernando Botero. Arshile Gorky, Jennifer Bartlett and Andy Warhol.
In addition to the exhibition program, the museum also hosts visiting lecturers, classic film viewings, concerts and numerous educational programs for adults and children.
