National Air and Space Museum
Soar into space at the National Air and Space Museum. Originally opened in 1976, this huge museum is dedicated to all forms of aircraft, as well as terrestrial geology, geophysics and planetary science.
The outside of the Air and Space Museum may be boxy, but as soon as you get inside you’ll feel as though you’re standing in the middle of a modern spaceship. Clean-cut design and exposed architecture give the museum a modern edge.
As part of the Smithsonian Institution, the Air and Space Museum houses the largest collection of aircraft and spacecraft in the world. It’s a great stop if you’re traveling with children, or if you’re simply a space nut.
