Jack London Square
Jack London Square is one of Oakland’s most identifiable landmarks named after the Oakland-native author who wrote such popular books as The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and The Sea Wolf along with many more.
Located within the Port of Oakland, Jack London Square is a symbol of the city’s history as a seaport. Historically it was the heart of Oakland’s port operations and remains to be a vibrant functioning waterfront to this very day. The square is currently a popular destination for dining, retail, events, and recreation throughout the year.
You will be able to find everything from outdoor dining and movies to kayaking and bicycling, to food tours and summer night markets. There are many events to look forward to including Eat Real, Dancing under the Stars, Jack’s Night Market and more. You can even visit the Heinold's First & Last Chance Saloon, a favorite place frequented by Mr. Jack London himself back in the day!
