Lincoln Park Zoo

This well-designed zoo spans a surprising 35 acres and is home to a wide variety of animals including polar bears, sun bears, rhinoceros, camels, penguins, gorillas, lions, giraffes, reptiles, monkeys and more.

Considered one of the oldest zoos in the United States, Lincoln Park Zoo was founded in 1868, and is one of the little remaining free zoos in the country. Here you can find approximately 200 different species of animals, a great number of which are either rare or endangered.

The Lincoln Park zoo includes the Nature Boardwalk, which is a shining addition to the historic legacy of gardens in the city. Considered a haven for native birds, frogs, fish, turtles, insects etc, this natural ecosystem serves as an example for other urban cities which wish to conserve a natural ecosystem sustainably.

Both an educational experience and a gorgeous space to stroll in, take in nature and take photographs, a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo is well warranted.
