Castillo de Castelldefels
The Castillo de Castelldefels was originally built in the 10th century as a monastery. With its hilltop location, it was eventually converted into a castle to defend against the Barbary pirates in the 16th century. The site is home to a Romanesque chapel, with castle walls surrounded by a variety of exotic Mediterranean plants. The top of the castle features an excellent view of the neighboring area and is well worth a visit.
The castle is open to visitors on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Click here for more information.
