For those who have Elton John's live concert in their “Must See Before I Die” list, we have good news. As we learnt very recently the world famous singer-composer is planning to have a concert in Batumi, Georgia at the Piazza. They say that the singer has had the intention of organizing a concert in Georgia after watching Sting's concert there on the Internet. His management has expressed desire to perform one of the singer's projects "Solo Piano" in Batumi.
This should probably be a big event for Georgia in terms of its cultural aspect as well as its incoming tourism. Georgians are trying to do their best in order to receive the musical genius in the most proper manner. The company Eastern Promotion is currently searching for sponsors for the arrival of the singer is associated with considerable costs. As Elton John always travels with his piano, there are certain technical aspects that need to be taken care of. The singer's visit to Batumi is scheduled for June 17, 2012.
Even though not officially reported, rumor has it that after his concert in Georgia, Elton John may have another one in Yerevan, Armenia. It is also said that one of the Armenian companies has already began the discussions both over the financial and organizational issues.
Was this true, it would be a real honor for Armenia to host one of the most successful recording artists alive today whose uniqueness makes him a treasure in popular music. The beauty of his music is the story telling aspect of his lyrics. His live performance would be really something fancy and a true delicacy for the Armenian audience. So let's hope that the famous singer will include Armenia into his schedule, as we Armenians are no less eager to have him here in Yerevan with his big, black, shiny piano and his soul-touching songs.
