About the Apartel
Built in 1894, the Old Colony building was at the time Chicago’s tallest building. It is now a designated landmark in the Loop neighborhood, near the beautiful Grant Park and the Chicago Field Museum. Whether you have business in one of Chicago’s many skyscrapers or just want to take in the sights, the Old Colony Apartel is the perfect home base for your Chicago trips.
What You’ll Do
Located in the Loop neighborhood of Chicago, the Chicago Old Colony Apartel is just blocks from Grant Park which features several famous museums and a quiet place to stroll along the Lake Michigan waterfront. The Chicago Field museum, located in the park, features amazing science and history exhibitions.
One of Chicago’s main attractions is the Willis Tower, standing 1,451 feet above the street. For braver visitors, the glass balcony on the Skydeck gives a clear view all the way down to the street with its transparent floor.
Chicago is also a destination for foodies. Both its deep-dish pizza and signature hot dogs are often imitated, but never replicated. Lesser known, but just as tasty, the Italian Beef sandwich from the Little Italy neighborhood is also a must try on your Chicago visit.
