Narikala is an historical fortress overlooking Tbilisi.The fortress was founded in the 4th century.Umayyads expanded it in the 7th century.Narikala consists of two walled sections between the suplhur baths and the botanical garden.The fortress was renamed "Narin Qala" by Mongols ("narin"-small,"qala"-fortress).In 1827 Narikala was destroyed by the earthquake.There is located St.Nicolas temple dated the 12th century.
