Martiros Saryan Museum
Martiros Saryan is a well-known Armenian painter. His house museum is located on Saryan street, which is named after him. The museum was founded in 1967 on November 27.
In 1932 a work studio was built for Saryan. Here Saryan has recieved many guests and visitors, who were all interested in Saryan's art. In 1967 by the decision of Armenian government, the museum was built adjacent to the great artist's house.
Two hundred forty seven works by Saryan are kept in this museum. In the museum's history numerous exhibitions and publications have been held. The museum has also organized more than 135 exhibitions in the former Soviet Union countires and in Europe. Many catalogues, books and albums have been published. There is an art studio in the museum, where lectures are held and films are shown.
