The Middle East Museum

The Middle East Museum was established In 1993, based on a collection donated by painter-collector Marcos Grigorian . The museum exhibits about 2, 600 items including works of Russian, European and Middle Eastern applied arts.


The Persian section is particularly unique and consists of items of pre-Persian civilizations of the 4-1 millennia B. C., such as Pottery from Elam, bronze artwork from Luristan and ritual figurines from Suza and Amlal. Persian pre-Islamic Zoroastrian culture, Islamic culture, Ghadjarac art is also exhibited. The exhibits are kept in 4 rooms entitled Marcos Grigorian, Islamic, Russian and European. The museum also feautures a rich library and video collection.
