Panarmenian Games 2011

The fifth Pan-Armenian Games are set to kick off for an action filled series of events starting on August 13th 2011. The games will be held in the "best halls and stadiums of Armenia" according to chief judge Yeghishe Davtyan.


The 2011 Panarmenian Games schedule 

For the week long competition athletes from dozens of countries will descend upon Yerevan representing their Armenian hometowns. Athletes will compete in basketball, volleyball, football, mini football, chess, swimming, badminton, table tennis, tennis, and athletics. Yerevan will be buzzing with hundreds of athletes and thousands of fans, so booking travel early is critical, but have no fear, Ginosi is able to help with all your travel planning needs.

The history of Panarmenian Games

The games were founded on April 30, 1997 as the brainchild of Soviet diplomat Ashot Melik-Shahnazaryan. Ashot originally conceived of the games during the 60's but didn't have the opportunity to act on his dreams until 1995. The first games were held from August 28th 1999 to September 5th 1999. The games were a wild success and the second Pan-Armenian games were held in 2001. The third games were held in 2003 and the fourth in 2007. The fifth Panarmenian Games is set up to be a great event that shouldn't be missed.
