Holy Trinity Church
The Holy Trinity Church of Ararat patriarchal diocese is an Armenian Apostolic Church which was built in 2003 in Malatia-Sebastia District, Yerevan. It is located on Raffi street, in the South-Western part of the city. The church is designed after the Zvartnots Cathedral of the 7th century with the project of architect Baghdassar Arzoumanian
The Construction
The construction works began in March 2001 and lasted 4 years. The Church was constructed with the sponsorship of American Armenian national benefactor Mrs. Louise Simone Manoogian. It resembles Zvartnots Cathedral: a three-story building with a height of 36 meters. Downstairs there is a hall with classrooms, steeple, two rooms for candle-lighting, and an altar, which is decorated with the image of Virgin Mary by artist Varuzhan Vardanyan. On November 9, 2004, His Holiness Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians presided over the ceremony of consecration of the crosses of the Church of Holy Trinity.
