Vedi Town

Vedi Town is an important starting point for those exploring the vast Khosrov Nature Reserve.  The town of more than 13,000 residents is in Ararat Province situated on the Vedi River with incredible views of the Ararat mountain range.

General Description

The Khosrov Nature Reserve Headquarters is located in Vedi Town and serves as a popular tourist destination for visitors wishing to explore the nature reserve.  There is an ethnographic museum located nearby and is worth a visit while in Vedi.  

East of Vedi near the village of Dashtakar are a number of small hot springs that are fun to explore and relax in. If you head South from Vedi visitors can discover a 5th century basilica and an iron age cemetery.  Meanwhile, great camping locations can be found all throughout the area.

Vedi is most famously known as being the home of VEDIALCO, one of Armenia’s largest wine and alcohol factories.  The most famous wine produced at the factory is Vernashen a semi-sweet wine.  Check with the locals to get information about factory tours.
